10 things I do every day for my health

Mikaela Lauren Wellness 10 things

How do I take care of my mental, physical, spiritual, and relational health? Today I’m sharing with you the things I do every day that keep me physically in shape, mentally strong, and full of joy. I’m not perfect and I definitely have ups and downs, but the following 10 things are habits and I do them every day to keep myself happy and whole. I hope you find these helpful and can implement some. All right, let’s get into it… here are the 10 things I do every day for my health:

1. Drink water

Every day I aim for at least 60 oz. of water.

2. Add sea salt to my water

Adding just a pinch of sea salt to my water helps my body actually absorb what I’m drinking and provides key minerals and electrolytes.

3. Get outside

Preferably early in the morning. Not only does fresh air help boost my mood, getting sunlight provides Vitamin D and helps regulate my circadian rhythm.

4. Move my body

Whether that be a short walk around the block, stretching at home, resistance training, or hiking, I prioritize movement in my life.

5. Read

This may look like listening to an audiobook, but I usually read at least a few pages of a book right when I wake up or before falling asleep at night. I am a lifelong learner and am always striving to grow and learn. Check out some of my favorite books here.

6. My skincare routine

My AM and PM skincare routine is therapeutic and helps keep my skin clear. You can read more about my favorite products here.

7. Diffuse essential oils

I love using essential oils for energy, to relax, and to boost my mood.

8. Dry brush

This helps the lymphatic system detoxify. Careful… it feels so good you may become addicted! Find the dry brush I use here.

9. Take my supplements

You cannot supplement yourself to a healthy diet, but you can use supplements to fill in any gaps and nutritional deficiencies. If you want to learn more about the supplements I use, comment below and I’ll do a post all about it.

10. Eat chocolate

I LOVE chocolate. And yes, I have a sweet tooth. And I believe it’s important to have balance and do things you love, and for me, that means chocolate every day! Lately, my favorite treat has been a piece of 100% dark chocolate on a date.
